World O-CHA Trade Fair


Trade Fair relating to tea and tea related items, such as tea sets, tea equipment and sweets to accompany tea from all over the world.
The Trade Fair will serve as a venue for trade negotiations, business meetings and direct sales to the public.

World O-CHA Contest


Green tea-producing areas from all over the world will have the opportunity to showcase their famous teas as well as any new tea-related products. The contest will examine each entry for its commercial viability based on its quality, product concept, etc.

World Tea Set Contest
In addition to the World O-CHA Contest, the Festival will also be running an exhibition and contest for items and products related to tea.
World Green Tea Conference

An International Conference where all the major tea industry figures convene to discuss green tea production and consumption around the world.
Against a background of concerns about our food and a boom in Japanese cuisine, attendees will discuss global trends in consumption, etc.
We are also planning to hold a World O-CHA Seminar with panelists from the World Green Tea Conference.
Technical Site Visit

Experience the tea industry first hand by visiting the actual sites of the tea industry, culture and academy that will stimulate all five senses.
Plans include:

New O-CHA(Tea) Styles expressed by 遊 ( Fun),創 ( Creativity) and 感 (Feeling)
A proposal of a new tea culture and enjoyment of tea to suit modern lifestyles will be offered.

Exhibition Plan:
Tea styles for today will be presented by coordinationg a variety of tea sets, tea sweets, flower arrangements, gardening etc.
Exploring Japanese Tea Ceremony
A broad introduction to the various different approaches to the Way of Tea, one of Japan’s most revered traditional cultural practices.
One of the planned exhibitions will showcase the hospitality of the tea room and the esoteric depths of the tea utensils, flowers, Japanese paintings and tea ceremony confectionary.
Exhibition Plan :
- Demonstrations by various tea ceremony schools
- Experience Japanese hospitality through the tea ceremony and Zen meditation in a traditional Zen temple tea room
Tea Parties from around the World


An opportunity to discover how people and cultures around the world enjoy tea gatherings and tea parties. Experience hospitality and the enjoyment of tea in a variety of different manners.

- Rediscovering Japanese Tea from the Taisho Era

Academic Research Program
The 4th International Conference on O-CHA (Tea) Culture and Science

Researchers from all over the world come together to share the latest information on the academic study of tea production and the benefits of tea.

*The International Conference on O-CHA (Tea) Culture and Science shall be held between Oct. 26th (Tue) and Oct 28th (Thu) 2010.
